Breakfast

I'm one of those people who enjoys eating a long, drawn-out breakfast in the morning. Make coffee, eat some toast, wake up, make a bigger breakfast like baked french toast, egg souffle, or any of the other yummy recipe Smitten Kitchen has available.
However, it is often a failing of people like me to think they can make something up and it taste amazing. Chicken with cranberry rum sauce isn't quite as good or romantic as it sounds. Tart, smelled bad, tasted okay - should have baked it! And if I had cardamom the whole meal would have tasted better.
It's my euphoria to think that all the great cooks have had to go through many bad recipes to get to the good ones, the only ones we see.
Perhaps now I shall see Julie & Julia and be encouraged.
